APRS

An APRS iGate is provided for 2m on RX/TX: 144,8 MHz (bandwidth 12,5 kHz). The transmission system consists of a 2m groundplane antenna (azimut: ND) and a 2m YAESU handheld transceiver with output power 5 W. More information on the APRS service of DB0WAN including traffic can be found on http://aprs.fi/info/a/DB0WAN

In advance the radiation pattern of the transmission system has been simulated: the maximal range of the station is approximately 23 km. The simulation has been conducted using cloudrf.com with 10 W in a height of 20 m using an omnidirectional antenna.

DB0WAN uses Xastir on a linux server as APRS gateway software. A soundmodem is used
as interface to the radio.
